Elaine Barnett

The central theme running through my work is the relationship we have with our bodies and how we relate to the world.  Using the human body as a basis for my sculpture I take inspiration from mythology, folklore and different cultures to explore the hidden aspects of the self. The sculptures represent a state of being,  embodying the perpetual cycle of life, death and the emotional journey in between.

I enjoy exploring new ways of working and using different materials, pushing them to their limits to challenge myself and keep the work fresh.
