Tracey Hollis Rowe

Tracey Hollis Rowe is a contemporary British landscape artist based in the North West UK 

 

Tracey’s compositions are created from memory, using expressive gestural marks to build layers, texture, negative spaces and form. Intuitive mark making with palette knives and tools, using paints and mediums that are then manipulated until an image emerges.

 

Echoes of places roamed, mountains hiked and nature explored, translated into a painting the viewer can connect with. A view with a sense of familiarity about it, a place they have been to or somewhere that reminds them of home

 

Tracey works from her home studio and her main studio in an old grade II listed mill at Spinners Mill Artist's Studios, Leigh Spinners Mill in Leigh, Lancashire.

 

The outdoors provides Tracey with a constant source of inspiration and in particular her love of the moors.

When she is not in her studio painting she can be found out hiking across the many ‘Wild Places’ of the UK.

 

Tracey’s work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions over the years, most recently shortlisted finalist for The David Shepherd Wildlife Exhibition 2024 at The Mall Galleries in London and The Best Of British exhibition at Holt Gallery in Norfolk.

Previous exhibitions include the New Light ‘Curators Choice’ exhibition at Scarborough Art Gallery 2020 and

Manchester HOME open exhibition 2020/2022 and Manchester Art Fair 2024

 

Tracey recently had work purchased for Wigan Council's permanent art collection in 2025 and has work in private collections throughout the UK
