Brent Blair is a contemporary British artist known for his atmospheric paintings that capture the changing light and character of the landscape. Based in Hay on Wye in Wales, his work reflects a deep connection to place, often focusing on coastal and rural environments, whether abstract or more realistic.
Working primarily in metallic inks, metal leaf and resin, Blair uses layered colour and expressive brushwork to evoke mood and movement. His paintings balance observation with interpretation, resulting in works that feel both immediate and timeless.
His work has been exhibited widely and is held in private collections. At The Lion Street Gallery, we are pleased to present Brent as part of our programme supporting contemporary artists from Wales and the Borders.
Blair’s paintings are increasingly sought after by collectors of contemporary British art, particularly those interested in abstract landscape interpretations with a strong sense of atmosphere and a painterly quality.
